Swiss Creamed Peas Recipe

INGREDIENTS

  1. 3cupsfrozen green peas
  2. 1cup slicedgreen onions
  3. 2tablespoonsbutter
  4. 1tablespoonflour
  5. 1/2teaspoonsalt
  6. 1cupheavy cream
  7. 1/2teaspoonlemons, zest of
  8. 3ounces shreddedswiss cheese

DIRECTIONS

  1. Cook peas according to package directions, drain.
  2. In the meantime, melt butter in a saucepan, add onion and cook until tender without browning.
  3. Add flour and salt, stir to coat.
  4. Add cream and lemon, cook and stir over medium high heat until thick and bubbly.
  5. Reduce heat to low, add cheese and stir until melted.
  6. Add drained peas, stir and serve.
