Susan’s Best Cabbage Rolls Recipe

INGREDIENTS

  1. 1/2lbground beef
  2. 1/2lbground veal
  3. 1/2lbground pork
  4. 1 1/2cupscooked rice(cooked halfway)
  5. 1mediumcarrot, grated
  6. 1mediumonion, finely chopped
  7. 1stalkcelery, finely chopped
  8. 1headcabbage
  9. salt
  10. pepper
  11. 1 (14 ounce)cantomato sauce

DIRECTIONS

  1. Cook rice until half done (this keeps the rice from turning mushy as the cabbage rolls cook.
  2. Boil whole cabbage 15 minutes and separate leaves; cut out hard stems.
  3. Combine meat, rice, vegetables, salt and pepper.
  4. Stuff and roll cabbage leaves.
  5. Place in baking dish.
  6. Cover with tomato sauce and bake at 350° for 1 hour and 45 minutes.
  7. Good served with French or Italian bread.
