Spicy Shrimp With Gold Sauce Recipe

INGREDIENTS

  1. 1/4teaspoonsaffron threads, crumbled
  2. 1tablespoonhot water
  3. 1/2cupmayonnaise
  4. 2tablespoonstomato paste
  5. 1smallgarlic clove, crushed through a press
  6. 1tablespoonlemon juice
  7. 3tablespoonsbutter
  8. 3tablespoonscajun seasoning
  9. 1lblarge shrimp, peeled and deveined with tails

DIRECTIONS

  1. Combine large pinch of saffron and water in bowl.
  2. Stand 2 minutes.
  3. Wisk in mayonnaise, tomato paste, garlic and lemon juice.
  4. Refrigerate.
  5. Microwave butter in pie plate for 1 minute or until melted.
  6. Sprinkle cajun seasoning on waxed paper.
  7. Heat a 10 inch iron skillet over medium high heat until hot.
  8. Dip 1 side of shrimp in butter and then seasoning.
  9. Cook 1/2 of shrimp in hot skillet season side down for 2 minutes.
  10. Turn and cook 1 -2 minutes more.
  11. Serve with sauce.
