Shrimp & Cheese Bread Recipe

INGREDIENTS

  1. 4tablespoonsbutter
  2. 1bunchgreen onions, chopped
  3. 1lbshrimp, peeled &amp,deveined(if large, cut in half)
  4. 1teaspoonseasoning salt
  5. 1teaspooncayenne pepper
  6. 1teaspoongarlic pepper seasoning
  7. 1teaspoonfresh ground black pepper
  8. 3cups gratedmonterey jack cheese
  9. 1loafFrench bread

DIRECTIONS

  1. Melt butter in skillet and add green onions, shrimp (or crawfish) and seasonings; cook until shrimp are just done (8-10 minutes).
  2. Slice 1/3 of the top off the bread and dig out insides of bottom, leaving a 1/2″ shell.
  3. Sprinkle half the cheese in the shell, pour the shrimp mixture over the cheese, and top with remaining cheese.
  4. Replace top of bread on the loaf.
  5. Wrap loaf in aluminum foil and bake at 350 degrees for 20 minutes.
  6. Allow loaf to cool a bit before slicing; serve warm.
