Sausage Barley Soup (Crock Pot) Recipe

INGREDIENTS

  1. 1lbitalian sweet sausage
  2. 1/2 choppedonion
  3. 1tablespoon mincedgarlic
  4. 1/2teaspoonitalian seasoning
  5. 1 (48 ounce)canchicken broth
  6. 1carrot, sliced
  7. 1 (10 ounce)packagefrozen chopped spinach
  8. 1/4cup uncookedpearl barley
  9. 2teaspoonschicken soup base

DIRECTIONS

  1. Thaw and drain spinach well.
  2. Remove casings from sausage and cook thoroughly in a skillet over medium heat.
  3. Add onion and garlic and Italian seasoning to the sausage.
  4. When done remove from heat and drain.
  5. In a slow cooker place the sausage, chicken broth, carrot, spinach, barley and soup base.
  6. Cover.
  7. Cook on high 4 hours or 6 to 8 hours on low.
