Molasses Creams Recipe

INGREDIENTS

  1. 1 1/2cupsbutter, softened
  2. 2cupssugar
  3. 2eggs, slightly beaten
  4. 1/2cupmolasses
  5. 4cupsall-purpose flour
  6. 2teaspoonsbaking soda
  7. 1teaspoonground cinnamon
  8. 3/4teaspoonground ginger
  9. 1/2teaspoonground cloves
  10. 1/2teaspoonsalt
  11. Frosting

  12. 3tablespoonsbutter, softened
  13. 1 1/2cupsconfectioners’ sugar
  14. 1tablespoonvanilla extract
  15. 1-2tablespoonmilk

DIRECTIONS

  1. In a large mixing bowl, cream butter and sugar.
  2. Add eggs, and molasses and mix thoroughly.
  3. Combine dry ingredients and gradually add to creamed mixture.
  4. Shape into 1 inch balls.
  5. Place on ungreased baking sheets (do not flatten) Bake at 350 for 10-12 minutes or until done (centers will be slightly soft) In a small mixing bowl beat butter, confectionary sugar and vanilla and enough milk until creamy.
  6. Frost cookies while warm.
