Meatballs in Garlic, Tomato and Mint Sauce Recipe

INGREDIENTS

  1. For the meatballs

  2. 350gmincemeat
  3. 1onion, chopped
  4. 1/2teaspoongarlic, minced
  5. 1/2sprig choppedparsley
  6. 1/2sprig choppedmint
  7. 1/2teaspoonsalt(or to taste)
  8. 1/2teaspoonpepper(or to taste)
  9. 1/2teaspoonmustard powder(or to taste)
  10. 2egg yolks(I use 1 full egg)
  11. oil, to fry
  12. The sauce

  13. 1tablespoonoil
  14. 2tablespoonsonions
  15. 2tablespoons choppedgarlic
  16. 2teaspoons choppedcelery
  17. 1/2cuptomato puree
  18. 2tablespoonstomato ketchup

DIRECTIONS

  1. Mix the mince with all other ingredients for the meat balls.
  2. Divide into small sized balls Fry well in moderately hot oil.
  3. Set aside.
  4. For the sauce Heat 1 tbsp oil in a pan.
  5. Add the chopped onion and the celery, tomato puree and tomato ketchup Mix well to form a smooth sauce Add the fried meat balls and toss in the sauce.
