Kelly’s Praline French Toast Casserole Recipe

INGREDIENTS

  1. 1loafFrench bread
  2. 8largeeggs
  3. 2cupswhipping cream
  4. 1cupmilk
  5. 2tablespoonssugar
  6. 2teaspoonsvanilla
  7. 1/2teaspoonground cinnamon
  8. 1/4teaspoonground nutmeg
  9. 1pinchsalt(1/16 tsp., just half of an 1/8 tsp. approx.)
  10. Praline Topping

  11. 1cupbutter
  12. 1cup packedbrown sugar
  13. 1cup choppedpecans
  14. 2tablespoonslight corn syrup
  15. 3/4teaspoonground cinnamon
  16. 1/4teaspoonground nutmeg

DIRECTIONS

  1. Slice the bread into 20-1″ slices and arrange the slices in a generously buttered 13×9 or larger baking dish, in 2 rows, overlapping the slices.
  2. In a large bowl, combine rest of ingredients beating with whisk til well blended but not foamy.
  3. Pour over the bread slices, making sure all are covered spooning some in between the slices.
  4. Cover and refrigerate overnight.
  5. Next day, heat oven to 350*, make praline topping–”Praline Topping”:.
  6. In saucepan, combine ingredients and bring to a boil, pour and spread evenly over top of bread slices.
  7. Bake casserole, uncovered, for 35-40 minutes til puffed and golden!
