Kelly's Homemade Apple Sausage Stuffing Recipe

INGREDIENTS

  1. 1/2lbhamburger
  2. 1/2lbbulk sausage
  3. 1/2lbbacon, cut in 1 ” pieces
  4. 1largeonion, diced
  5. 2-3stalkscelery, sliced
  6. 1pint freshsliced mushrooms
  7. 2apples, unpeeled, diced
  8. 1tablespoonparsley flakes
  9. 1teaspoondried sage
  10. 1teaspoonthyme
  11. 1/4cupbutter, melted
  12. 1cupchicken bouillon
  13. 3/4cupapplesauce
  14. 1 (10 3/4 ounce)cancream of chicken soup(undiluted)
  15. 1/2-1cup choppedpecans
  16. 1/2teaspoonsalt
  17. 1teaspoonpepper
  18. 1 (16 ounce)bag unseasoneddry bread cubes

DIRECTIONS

  1. In large frying pan, saute first 10 ingredients til done adding apples during last 5 minutes, drain grease, add butter and melt.
  2. Stir in chicken bouillon, chicken soup, pecans, salt and pepper.
  3. Fold in bread cubes, til just moistened, don’t over stir.
  4. Pour into greased baking dish, cover, bake at 350ยบ for 45 minute.
  5. Uncover, and bake 15 minutes longer.
  6. Or stuff inside turkey JUST BEFORE baking your turkey. (Do not pre-stuff turkey.).
  7. *Be careful to add the correct amount of sage! Directly above the sage amount, my recipe calls for 1 TABLESPOON parsley. Make sure you only add 1 TEASPOON sage! (wink!).
