Gingerbread With Complimentary Protein Recipe

INGREDIENTS

  1. 1cupbutteror margarine
  2. 1cupboiling water
  3. 1cupmolasses
  4. 1cupbrown sugar
  5. 2eggs
  6. 2 1/2cupswhole wheat flour
  7. 1/2cupsoy flour
  8. 1teaspoonbaking powder
  9. 1teaspoonbaking soda
  10. 1teaspoonsalt
  11. 2teaspoonsginger
  12. 2teaspoonscinnamon

DIRECTIONS

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  2. In a mixing bowl, cut butter or margarine into small cubes.
  3. Pour boiling water over butter to melt it.
  4. (This could also be accomplished in the microwave).
  5. Beat into this mixture, the molasses and brown sugar.
  6. Being sure that the mixture is not hot, beat in the eggs.
  7. In a separate bowl, combine all the rest of the dry ingredients.
  8. Stir, then beat them into the molasses mixture.
  9. Pour into a greased and floured 9×13 baking pan.
  10. Bake for approximately 35-45 minutes in a preheated 350 degree oven.
  11. Serve with whipped cream or applesauce.
