Cajun Crawfish/crab Cakes With Spicy Red Pepper Sauce Recipe

INGREDIENTS

  1. Red Pepper Sauce

  2. 2roasted red peppers(the variety that comes in a jar)
  3. 1/2cupfat-free mayonnaise
  4. 1/4-1/2teaspooncayenne pepper
  5. 1/2teaspoonseasoning salt
  6. Crawfish/crab Cakes

  7. 3teaspoonsolive oil, divided
  8. 1/2onion, chopped
  9. 1stalkcelery, chopped
  10. 2eggs, beaten
  11. 2tablespoonsground walnuts
  12. 2tablespoons choppedfresh parsley
  13. 2tablespoonsfat-free mayonnaise
  14. 1tablespoonlemon juice
  15. 1teaspooncajun seasoning
  16. 1/2teaspooncrab boil seasoning(like Old Bay)
  17. 2teaspoonsWorcestershire sauce
  18. 1/2teaspoonmustard powder
  19. 1/4teaspoon crushedcelery seeds
  20. 1/2teaspoonground paprika
  21. 1lbcrawfish meator crabmeat
  22. 1/2-1teaspoonhot pepper sauce
  23. 1cupwhole wheat bread crumbs

DIRECTIONS

  1. Red Pepper Sauce: Puree roasted red peppers in a blender, then add mayonniase and spices.
  2. Set aside and refrigerate.
  3. Crawfish Cakes: Heat 1 teaspoons olive oil in sautee pan, sautee onion and celery until soft.
  4. Place in a large mixing bowl.
  5. Mix remaining ingredients except bread crumbs.
  6. Place half of seafood mixture in a blender or processor and puree and return to mixing bowl and stir together.
  7. Place bread crumbs evenly on a cookie sheet.
  8. Form about 8 patties and coat them with bread crumbs.
  9. Heat remaining 2 teaspoons of olive oil in a pan and cook patties in batches.
  10. Cook for about 2-3 minutes each side until brown and crisp on outside.
  11. Serve with red pepper sauce.
