Brussels Sprouts Recipe

INGREDIENTS

  1. 2-3lbsBrussels sprouts
  2. 1/4cupbutter
  3. 1/4cupflour
  4. 1cup choppedonions
  5. 2cups warmhomogenized milk
  6. 1 1/2cups shredded oldsharp white cheddar cheese(divide in half)
  7. 1/2teaspoonsalt
  8. 1/2teaspoonpepper
  9. 1teaspoonnutmeg

DIRECTIONS

  1. Parboil the brussel sprouts for 7 minutes and drain.
  2. Place into a 2-3 quart oven proof dish.
  3. Saute the onion in butter until clear and then add the flour and stir.
  4. Add the warm milk, salt, pepper, nutmeg, 3/4 cup cheese and stir.
  5. Pour filling over brussel sprouts.
  6. Top with remaining 3/4 cup cheese and bake at 375 for 40 minutes.
  7. This can be prepared and frozen until needed.
