Brandied Beef Stew Recipe

INGREDIENTS

  1. 1 1/2lbsbeef stew meat
  2. 2tablespoonsflour
  3. 1teaspoongarlic salt
  4. 1/2teaspoondried oregano
  5. 1/4teaspoondried basil
  6. 1/4teaspoonblack pepper
  7. 2tablespoonsolive oil
  8. 1mediumonion, cut into wedges
  9. 3carrots, cut into chunks
  10. 1 (14 1/2 ounce)canbeef broth
  11. 1/2cupbrandy
  12. 2cups smallwhole mushrooms
  13. 2tablespoons choppedparsley

DIRECTIONS

  1. Sprinkle meat with flour, garlic salt,oregano, basil& pepper and toss to coat evenly.
  2. Heat oil in Dutch oven or large pot.
  3. Add meat and cook over medium heat until browned on all sides, stirring occasionally.
  4. Add onion, carrots, beef broth and brandy.
  5. Cover and simmer over low heat for 1 1/2 hours or until meat is very tender.
  6. Add mushrooms and parsley, and simmer 10 minutes longer.
  7. Add crusty bread& a nice green salad and enjoy!
