Beef Lo Mein Recipe

INGREDIENTS

  1. 1/2lbegg noodles(uncooked)
  2. 1lblean beef
  3. 4teaspoonsoil
  4. 4teaspoonssoy sauce
  5. 1pinchpepper
  6. 1onion, finely chopped
  7. oil(for frying)
  8. 2garlic cloves, crushed
  9. 2teaspoonssalt
  10. 1cupwater
  11. 4teaspoonssherry wine
  12. 1teaspoonsugar
  13. 2teaspoonssoy sauce
  14. 4teaspoonscornstarch

DIRECTIONS

  1. Boil the noodles in salted water until tender.
  2. Strain and set aside.
  3. Chop the beef finely.
  4. Mix together the oil, first 4 tsp of soy sauce and the pepper.
  5. Marinate the beef in this mixture for ten minutes.
  6. Saute the onion and garlic in a little hot oil for two minutes.
  7. Add the beef and cook for another two minutes or until the beef is almost cooked through.
  8. Add salt and mix well.
  9. Mix together the water, sherry, sugar, remaining soy sauce and cornstarch and add it to the beef mixture.
  10. Cook until the cornstarch is clear.
  11. Add the noodles and mix well.
  12. Serve immediately.
