Suzie's Oatmeal Chocolate Chip Cookies Recipe

INGREDIENTS

  1. 1cup stickmargarine(or butter)
  2. 1cupgranulated sugar
  3. 1cupbrown sugar, packed
  4. 2largeeggs
  5. 1tablespoonwater
  6. 1teaspoonvanilla
  7. 2 1/4cupsflour
  8. 1teaspoonbaking soda
  9. 2 1/2cupsoatmeal
  10. chocolate chips(to taste)

DIRECTIONS

  1. Cream the margarine and sugars.
  2. Add the eggs and mix.
  3. Add the water and vanilla, mix.
  4. Mix together the flour and baking soda and add to the mixture Fold in the oatmeal and chocolate chips.
  5. Spoon on a cookie sheet and bake at 350° until they just start to turn brown, if you like them chewy.

Falafel Potato Burgers Recipe

INGREDIENTS

  1. 1/4cup choppedonions
  2. 1clovegarlic, minced
  3. 2tablespoonsoil
  4. 2cups cookedgarbanzo beans
  5. 2potatoes, cooked
  6. 2tablespoonstahini(sesame paste)
  7. 1tablespoonlemon juice
  8. 1tablespoonpowdered milk
  9. 2teaspoonssoy sauce
  10. salt (optional)
  11. 1tablespoon choppedparsley (optional)
  12. 1/2teaspoonchili powder (optional)
  13. otherspices, to personal taste (optional)

DIRECTIONS

  1. Saute onion and garlic in oil.
  2. Mash or puree garbanzos and potatoes together.
  3. Add sauteed onion, tahini, lemon juice, milk powder, soy sauce, and other spices as desired.
  4. Shape into patties and place on greased cookie sheet.
  5. Bake at 350 for 10 min on each side (they will be very soft when turning the first time) Alternately, you can pan fry them in a little oil (I use olive oil) if you prefer them golden and crispier on the outside.
  6. Serve in pita with lettuce, tomato, and cucumber.

Apple Salad Recipe

INGREDIENTS

  1. 8mediumapples(chopped)
  2. 1 (8 ounce)jarmaraschino cherries(cut in half)
  3. 2stalkscelery(chopped)
  4. 1cupred seedless grapes(cut in half)
  5. 1cup coarsely choppedpeanuts
  6. Dressing

  7. 3/4-1cupMiracle Whip
  8. 2cupsCool Whip
  9. 1/4-1/2cupsugar

DIRECTIONS

  1. Mix first 5 ingredients together.
  2. Mix dressing ingredients together well and stir into salad.
  3. Eat immediately as nuts go soft after it sits for a while.

Wilted Lettuce Recipe

INGREDIENTS

  1. 1headlettuce, broken into bite sized pieces.
  2. 4-5green onions, sliced including tops
  3. 1lb friedbacon, broken into pieces
  4. Dressing

  5. 3/4cupbacon grease
  6. 5eggs
  7. 1cupcider vinegar
  8. 1/2-1cupsugar, to taste
  9. 1/4cupwater

DIRECTIONS

  1. Put first three ingredients in a large bowl.
  2. Combine sugar, eggs, vinegar, water& pepper.
  3. Pour into hot grease and cook until thick.
  4. Cool 5 minutes and then pour over salad ingredients.
  5. Stir and serve immediately, it will really wilt as it sets.

Mandarin Orange Cake Recipe

INGREDIENTS

  1. 1 (18 1/2 ounce)packageyellow cake mix, without pudding.
  2. 1 (11 ounce)canmandarin oranges, undrained
  3. 4eggs
  4. 1/2cupvegetable oil
  5. 1 (15 ounce)cancrushed pineapple, undrained
  6. 1 (8 ounce)containerwhipped topping
  7. 1 (3 3/4 ounce)boxinstant vanilla pudding(have used SF with good results)

DIRECTIONS

  1. Combine cake mix, oranges, eggs& oil.
  2. Beat for 2 minutes at high speed.
  3. Beat at low speed for one minute more.
  4. Pour into 13 x 9 ungreased pan.
  5. Bake at 350 degrees for 28-30 minutes.
  6. For Frosting: Combine Pineapple and pudding mix, beat for 2 minutes.
  7. Let stand for 5 minutes.
  8. Fold in whipped topping.
  9. Frost cake and chill at least 2 hours.
