Soft Custard Recipe

INGREDIENTS

  1. 2cupsmilk
  2. 1/2cupwhite sugar(I use a little less)
  3. 3eggs or6 egg yolks
  4. 1/2teaspoonvanilla

DIRECTIONS

  1. Scald together milk and sugar.
  2. Beat eggs until light.
  3. Gradually whisk a little of the hot milk into eggs.
  4. When eggs are warm enough that they will not cook when added to the hot milk gradually whisk eggs into the rest of milk.
  5. Cook over low heat, stirring constantly until custard coats a metal spoon.
  6. Remove from heat and add vanilla.

Dried Cranberry & Apricot Easy Apple Cake Recipe

INGREDIENTS

  1. 3baking apples(Macintosh)
  2. 3/4cupbutter, room temperature
  3. 1cupsugar
  4. 3eggs
  5. 1teaspoonvanilla extract
  6. 1 1/3cupsflour
  7. 1teaspooncinnamon
  8. 1teaspoonbaking powder
  9. 1/2cupraisins
  10. 1/4cupdried cranberries
  11. 1/4cupdried apricots, diced
  12. powdered sugar, for dusting

DIRECTIONS

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  2. Peel, core and quarter the apples then cover with water to prevent them from browning.
  3. Cream together the butter and sugar.
  4. Add eggs and vanilla extract, beat until well mixed.
  5. In a seperate bowl, sift together flour, baking powder and cinnamon.
  6. Add the flour mixture and mix well.
  7. Fold in the raisins, cranberries, and apricots and gently combine.
  8. Pour into a greased 9-inch round pan, push the apples into the batter and bake for 40-50 minutes until the sponge is golden brown and coming away from the edges of the pan.
  9. Dust with powdered sugar to serve.
