Maple Nut Granola (Not Too Sweet) Recipe

INGREDIENTS

  1. 3cupsoatmeal
  2. 1cup choppedwalnuts
  3. 1cup choppedalmonds
  4. 1/4cupwhole wheat pastry flour
  5. 1pinchsea salt
  6. 1/2teaspooncinnamon
  7. 1/2cupmaple syrup
  8. 1/3cupvegetable oil

DIRECTIONS

  1. Combine first 6 ingredients in a mixing bowl.
  2. Add 2 last ingredients and mix until well coated.
  3. Spread on oiled baking tray. Bake for 1 hour at 300°F, stirring every 15 minutes.
  4. Allow to cool on tray before storing in a jar.

Superbowl Chili Recipe

INGREDIENTS

  1. 2lbsground beef
  2. 2tablespoonsolive oil
  3. 2onions, chopped
  4. 4garlic cloves, minced
  5. 1 (28 ounce)cantomato sauce
  6. 3tablespoonstomato paste
  7. 1 (14 ounce)canRotel tomatoes & chilies
  8. 2teaspoonscumin
  9. 2teaspoonscoriander
  10. 2teaspoonscayenne pepper
  11. 2teaspoonspaprika
  12. 4teaspoonschili powder
  13. 2teaspoonssalt
  14. 1 (14 ounce)cankidney beans
  15. 1 (14 ounce)canpinto beans

DIRECTIONS

  1. Heat the olive oil in a large saucepan and cook the onion and garlic until soft.
  2. Add the ground beef and saute until brown.
  3. Add all the spices and cook for a couple of minutes before adding the rest of the ingredients.
  4. Simmer over low heat for 1 1/2 hours.

Syllabub Recipe

INGREDIENTS

  1. 1/2cupmilk
  2. 1/2cupsugar
  3. 2 1/2cupsapple cider(fresh is best)
  4. 1teaspoonvanilla
  5. 1pinchsalt
  6. 2cupsheavy whipping cream
  7. nutmeg, as garnish

DIRECTIONS

  1. Whip the cream until stiff.
  2. In another bowl mix the milk, sugar, cider, vanilla and salt.
  3. Fold whipped cream into cider mixture, then whisk until frothy.
  4. This can be stored in the refrigerator and re-whisked before serving.

Walnut Fudge Pie Recipe

INGREDIENTS

  1. 1unbaked pastry shell
  2. 1cup undilutedevaporated milk
  3. 3tablespoonsbutter
  4. 1 1/2cups nestle’ssemi-sweet chocolate bits
  5. 3eggs, slightly beaten
  6. 1 1/2cupssugar
  7. 3tablespoonsall-purpose flour
  8. 1teaspoonvanilla
  9. 1 1/2cups choppedwalnuts
  10. freshlywhipped cream

DIRECTIONS

  1. Prepare pastry shell with high fluted edge and set aside.
  2. Combine evaporated milk, butter and chocolate in a small saucepan.Stir over low heat until chocolate has melted; remove from heat.
  3. Mix eggs, sugar, flour and vanilla and stir into chocolate mixture.Add walnuts.Pour into pastry shell.
  4. Bake at 375° for 30-35 minute until firm.Cool to room temperature.
  5. Serve in thin wedges with whipped cream.

Flounder Alla Margherita Recipe

INGREDIENTS

  1. 1/4cupolive oil
  2. 1/3cupbutter, can use margarine
  3. 2lbssole, can use flounder
  4. 1 (16 ounce)cantomato sauce
  5. 2tablespoonsparsley, chopped
  6. 1teaspoonoregano leaves

DIRECTIONS

  1. About 20 minutes before serving, in a 12″ skillet, over medium heat, in hot oil and butter (or margarine).
  2. Cook fillets 2-3 minutes per side, until fish flakes easily with fork.
  3. Meanwhile, in medium bowl, stir tomato sauce, parsley, and oregano; pour over fish in the pan;.
  4. Reduce heat to low and simmer 5 or 6 minutes, occasionally basting fish with sauce.
  5. Serve from the skillet.
