Buttery Cinnamon Sheet Bread Recipe

INGREDIENTS

  1. 1loaffrozen bread dough, thawed(use a 1-pound)
  2. 1/4-1/3cup softbutter
  3. 1/3cupwhite sugar, plus
  4. 2tablespoonswhite sugar
  5. 1/3cupbrown sugar, packed, plus
  6. 2tablespoonsbrown sugar
  7. 1cup choppedpecansor walnuts(can use more or less)
  8. 1-2teaspooncinnamon
  9. GLAZE

  10. 1cuppowdered sugar
  11. 2-4tablespoonswhipping cream, unwhipped or use18% table cream

DIRECTIONS

  1. Set oven to 375 degrees.
  2. Grease a 15 x 10-inch jelly-roll pan.
  3. Spread the room temperature thawed dough on the bottom of the greased jelly-roll pan (if the dough does not want to spread just cover and let rest for 5 minutes).
  4. Spread the softened butter over the dough, then prick holes in the dough with a fork.
  5. In a bowl stir together both sugars with cinnamon and nuts, then sprinkle all over the top of the buttered dough.
  6. Bake for about 15-20 minutes or until golden brown.
  7. Whisk the powdered sugar with the whipping cream until desired consistancy, then drizzle over the WARM bread,.
  8. Cut into squares or triangles; serve warm.

Royal Rice Dish Recipe

INGREDIENTS

  1. 1 1/2cups uncookedlong-grain rice, not instant
  2. 1smallonion, chopped fine
  3. 1cupmargarineor butter
  4. 1green pepper, chopped fine
  5. 2 (8 ounce)cansbeef consomme
  6. 1 (8 ounce)canhot water
  7. 1 1/2teaspoonsoregano
  8. salt and pepper

DIRECTIONS

  1. Brown rice and onion in butter.
  2. Add rest of ingredients and bring to a boil.
  3. Cover and simmer over low heat for 45 minutes to 1 hour, stirring occasionally, until rice is tender.(Since consomme has a high salt content, you may want to add salt and pepper to taste until dish is ready to serve.).
