Chocolate Afghans Recipe

INGREDIENTS

  1. 220gbutter
  2. 90gcaster sugar
  3. 185g siftedflour
  4. 1tablespoon siftedcocoa
  5. 2 1/2cupsWeet-Bix

DIRECTIONS

  1. Cream the butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  2. Add dry ingredients to butter mixture and place teaspoons of mixture onto greased baking sheets, pressing down slightly with a fork.
  3. Bake at 180 c for 12- 15 minutes.
  4. Ice with chocoalte icing when cold.

Non Soy Soy Sauce Replacement for Cooking Recipe

INGREDIENTS

  1. 3/4cupwateror brothor mushrooms, soaking liquid
  2. 1tablespoonyeast extract
  3. 1tablespoon soy freeliquid gravy browner
  4. 1tablespoonsalt

DIRECTIONS

  1. The yeast extract can be Marmite or similar. The mushroom soaking liquid is suppose to be just that and not have a comma.
  2. Simply mix.
  3. Sub 1 tbsp for soy sauce.
  4. If you want a more complex flavor add wine, broth or mushroom concentrate to the dish in addition to this recipe.

Vegetable Pilaf Recipe

INGREDIENTS

  1. 1onion, chopped
  2. 1garlic clove
  3. 2cupslong grain brown rice
  4. 1stalkcelery
  5. 4ouncesgreen beans
  6. 4ounceszucchini, chopped
  7. 4ouncesbroccoli florets
  8. 1green pepper
  9. 2tablespoonscurrants
  10. 7tablespoonslight soy sauceor tamari
  11. 1pintboiling water
  12. 1bay leaf

DIRECTIONS

  1. Use non stick spray.
  2. Cook onion, add garlic and rice and cook for 2 minutes.
  3. Add vegetables, currants, bay leaf and water.
  4. Bring to a boil, then simmer covered for 30 minutes or until rice is cooked.
  5. Add soy sauce and cook covered for 5 minutes. remove bay leaf and serve.

Easy Bleu Cheese Chicken Recipe

INGREDIENTS

  1. 1/2cupbleu cheese salad dressing
  2. 1cupItalian style breadcrumbs
  3. 4chicken breast halves or6 chicken thighs

DIRECTIONS

  1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees.
  2. Skin and debone chicken if necessary.
  3. Place bleu cheese dressing and breadcrumbs in seperate, shallow containers.
  4. Dip chicken pieces in bleu cheese; then dredge in bread crumbs until thickly coated.
  5. Place in greased glass baking pan; pour any remaining bleu cheese dressing and bread crumbs over top.
  6. Bake at 400 degrees for 20 minutes.

Pork Vindaloo (2) Recipe

INGREDIENTS

  1. 1 1/2lbspork, cubed
  2. 2onions, sliced
  3. 6garlic cloves, chopped
  4. 6ouncesghee
  5. 1teaspoonpaprika
  6. 1/2teaspoonturmeric
  7. 1teaspoonfenugreek seeds
  8. 1tablespoonfresh ginger, finely chopped
  9. 2green chilies
  10. 1teaspoonsalt
  11. 1/4pintwater
  12. 2tablespoonstamarind paste
  13. 1 1/2teaspoonsgaram masala
  14. 2bay leaves
  15. 6cardamoms, slpit open
  16. 4cloves

DIRECTIONS

  1. Melt the ghee ( or butter) in a large pan and fry the onions till golden.
  2. Add the diced pork and fry to seal in the juices.
  3. Reduce the heat and add the paprika, turmeric, fenugreek seeds, ginger, chillies, and the salt.
  4. Add the water, cover with a lid and simmer for about 30 mins till the meat is cooked.
  5. In a little water soak the tamarind to release the flavour and form a pulp.
  6. Bring the pan to the boil and add tamarind pulp, garam masala, bay leaves, cardamoms and the cloves. Stir well, reduce heat to low and cook 30 minutes.
