Steaks With Mushrooms, Bleu Cheese & Frizzled Shallots Recipe

INGREDIENTS

  1. 32ouncesbeef round tip steaks, cut 1 inch thick(four 8oz steaks)
  2. 4slicesbacon, thick-sliced cut into 1/2-inch pieces
  3. 1tablespoonall-purpose flour
  4. 1teaspoonsalt, divided
  5. 1/2teaspoonpepper, divided
  6. 2shallots, small and thinly sliced, separated into rings
  7. 8ouncesshiitake mushrooms, stems removed, diced
  8. 2tablespoonswater
  9. 1/4cupwhipping cream
  10. 1/2cupblue cheese, crumbled
  11. 1/4cupfresh parsley leaves, finely chopped

DIRECTIONS

  1. Cook bacon in nonstick skillet over medium heat until crisp.
  2. Remove bacon with slotted spoon to paper towels, reserving 2 to 3 tablespoons drippings in skillet.
  3. Set aside.
  4. Meanwhile combine flour, 1/2 teaspoon salt and 1/4 teaspoon pepper in small bowl.
  5. Add shallots; toss to coat.
  6. Heat bacon drippings over medium-high heat until hot.
  7. Add shallots and cook 2 to 3 minutes or until well browned, stirring occasionally.
  8. Remove from skillet with slotted spoon to paper towels.
  9. Set aside.
  10. Reduce heat to medium.
  11. Season beef steaks evenly with remaining 1/4 teaspoon pepper.
  12. Place steaks in same skillet; cook 14 to 15 minutes for medium rare doneness, turning occasionally (do not overcook).
  13. Remove to serving platter; season with remaining 1/2 teaspoon salt.
  14. Keep warm.
  15. Add mushrooms and water to skillet then cook and stir 3 to 5 minutes or until mushrooms are tender.
  16. Add cream and cook 1 to 2 minutes or until cream is almost absorbed.
  17. Stir in cheese and bacon.
  18. Spoon mushroom mixture over steaks and top with shallots & parsley.

Sunday’s Best Pork Roast Recipe

INGREDIENTS

  1. 1 (5 lb)pork roast
  2. 1garlic clove, slice into 5 sections
  3. 1 (1 ounce)packagebeef soup mix
  4. 2cupswarm water

DIRECTIONS

  1. Rinse pork with cold water.
  2. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  3. Poke holes, about 5, in pork roast.
  4. Place garlic in holes.
  5. Mix dry soup mix with 2 cups warm water.
  6. Pour over roast.
  7. Roast covered in oven for three hours.

Cilantro Carne Asada Recipe

INGREDIENTS

  1. 2 (8 ounce)beef round tip steaks, cut 1 inch thick
  2. salt (optional)
  3. Marinade

  4. 2/3cupItalian dressing, prepared
  5. 2tablespoonsfresh cilantro, chopped
  6. 1tablespoonchili powder

DIRECTIONS

  1. Combine marinade ingredients in small bowl.
  2. Place beef steaks and marinade in food-safe plastic bag; turn steaks to coat.
  3. Close bag securely and marinate in refrigerator 1 hour.
  4. Remove steaks from marinade; discard marinade.
  5. Place steaks on grid over medium, ash-covered coals.
  6. Grill, covered, 11 to 13 minutes for medium rare doneness, turning once. (Do not overcook.)
  7. Season with salt, as desired.
  8. OPTIONAL TOPPINGS: Chopped fresh cilantro, chopped tomato, sliced avocado, dairy sour cream.

Simplified Choucroute Garni for Crock Pot (Pork Chops&sauerk Recipe

INGREDIENTS

  1. 1teaspoondried Italian seasoning
  2. 1/2teaspoonsalt(I like kosher)
  3. 1/2teaspoonpepper
  4. 3largepotatoes, peeled and thinly sliced(about 1 1/2 pounds)
  5. 4largeboneless pork chops(about 1 1/2 pounds)
  6. 2tart apples, peeled, cored, sliced
  7. 2 (14 1/2 ounce)canssauerkraut, undrained
  8. 1/2lbkielbasa, sliced
  9. 1/2cup slightlysweet white wine(Riesling)
  10. 1 (10 ounce)packagefrozen peas, thawed

DIRECTIONS

  1. In small bowl, mix seasoning, salt and pepper. (I didn’t measure these, I just seasoned each layer with a little sprinkle of each).
  2. Coat slow cooker with nonstick spray. Layer potatoes, pork chops, kielbasa, apples and sauerkraut (in that order). Season each layer with spice mix. Pour wine over top of sauerkraut.
  3. Cook 4 hours on high or 8 hours on low. Stir in thawed peas and cook additional 30 minutes.
  4. remove pork chops and cut each into thick slices against the grain. Stir back into mixture and serve.

Chocolate Almond Torte Recipe

INGREDIENTS

  1. 1 1/2cupssugar
  2. 3/4cupbutter, melted
  3. 2eggs
  4. 1teaspoonalmond extract
  5. 1 1/2teaspoonsvanilla extract
  6. 1/2teaspoonsalt
  7. 1 1/2cupsflour
  8. 1/2cupchocolate chips
  9. 1/2cupalmonds, sliced
  10. 1tablespoongranulated sugar

DIRECTIONS

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  2. Blend sugar and melted butter together in a medium size mixing bowl. Beat in eggs. Stir in salt and flour mixing until well blended.
  3. Spread batter in a greased 9″ round cake pan.
  4. Sprinkle batter with chocolate chips, then almonds, and finally the sugar.
  5. Press lightly with the fingers to push toppings into the batter a little way.
  6. Bake 30 to 35 minutes until golden brown.
  7. Allow to cool before cutting into 16 wedges.
