Christmas Jelly Candy Recipe

INGREDIENTS

  1. 5 (1/4 ounce)envelopesunflavored gelatin
  2. 1/2cupsugar
  3. 2cups desiredfruit juice(or nectar such as cranberry, grape, orange or apricot)
  4. 2tablespoonslemon juice

DIRECTIONS

  1. In 1 1/2 quart saucepan combine gelatin and sugar.
  2. Add fruit juice;wait 5 minutes.
  3. Bring to boiling; reduce heat.
  4. Cook and stir till gelatin dissolves.
  5. Add lemon juice.
  6. Pour into shallow pans or paper bake cups.
  7. Cool; chill till firm.
  8. (If desired loosen sides. Carefully turn out of pans, using a wide spatula. Cut with cookie cutters. Place on wire rack to dry.) Cover pans or store cutouts in single layers, between waxed paper, in airtight containers up to 5 days.

Mom’s Christmas Wine Jello Recipe

INGREDIENTS

  1. 8envelopesgelatin(Knox)
  2. 4cups coldwater
  3. 4cupsboiling water
  4. 4cupswine(sweet)
  5. 4cupssugar
  6. 4teaspoonslemon juice

DIRECTIONS

  1. Mix them and let them gel.
  2. I haven’t made this in ages, but I remember mom used to have that cheap sweet wine and this was soooo wonderful.
  3. We’d serve it with whipped cream after a huge Christmas dinner.
  4. The one day in time is just so it jells.
  5. Overnite is fine.

Christmas Snow Pudding Recipe

INGREDIENTS

  1. 24ladyfingers
  2. 1/2cupsherry wine
  3. 2envelopesunflavored gelatin
  4. 1cup coldwater
  5. 12egg whites
  6. 1cupsugar
  7. 2cupswhipping cream, whipped
  8. 1tablespoonsugar
  9. maraschino cherries

DIRECTIONS

  1. Halve lady fingers lengthwise, dip in sherry and line botttom of 2 (9×13 inch) shallow pyrex casserolesSprinkle gelatin over cold water in small saucepan.
  2. Place over low heat about 5 minutes until dissolved.
  3. stirring constantly.
  4. Beat egg whites until stiff.
  5. Gradually add sugar Continue to beat until very stiff.
  6. Fold in gelatin that has been cooled slightly.
  7. Spread the egg white mixture over the lady fingers.
  8. Cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate until congealed.
  9. Cut snow pudding into desired size squares and place on plate.
  10. Sweeten whipped cream with sugar.
  11. Ice top and sides of each square with whipped cream.
  12. Pour CUSTARD SAUCE over each serving and garnish with a cherry on top.
  13. CUSTARD SAUCE: 6 egg yolks 1 cup sugar 3 cups milk, scalded 1 tsp vanilla 1 Tbsp.
  14. dry sherry wine Beat egg yolks and sugar together.
  15. Slowly pour in scalded milk.
  16. Place in double boiler and cook over simmering water until custard coats a spoon.
  17. Cool and add vanilla and sherry Refrigerate until serving time.
  18. makes about 3 1/2 cups sauce.

Christmas Cookies Recipe

INGREDIENTS

  1. 1 1/2cupsconfectioners’ sugar
  2. 1cupbutteror margarine, softened
  3. 1largeegg
  4. 1 1/2teaspoonsvanilla extract
  5. 2 1/4cupsall-purpose flour
  6. 1teaspoonbaking soda
  7. 1teaspooncream of tartar
  8. Frosting

  9. 2cupsconfectioners’ sugar
  10. 1/4cuplight corn syrup
  11. 2tablespoonswater
  12. food coloring
  13. butter flavoring
  14. mint extract

DIRECTIONS

  1. In a large mixing bowl combine the 1st seven ingredients in order given and mix well.
  2. Chill dough 2-3 hours or until dough is easy to handle.
  3. Roll out on a lightly floured surface to about ¼ inch thickness.
  4. Cut with various cookie cutters.
  5. (Cookie cutters may have to be floured).
  6. Place on a greased cookie sheets.
  7. Bake at 375° for 7-8 minutes or until lightly brown.
  8. Cool on wire racks.
  9. For frosting combine sugar, corn syrup, and water in small bowl.
  10. Transfer equal amounts of frosting into separate bowls.
  11. Add desired amount of butter/mint flavoring.
  12. Mix in food coloring.
  13. Frost cookies and refrigerate overnight.

Christmas Cooky Puffs Recipe

INGREDIENTS

  1. 6tablespoons whiteCrisco shortening
  2. 1cupgranulated sugar
  3. 2hard-boiled eggs, yolks seived
  4. 1tablespoon fresh gratedorange zest
  5. 1teaspoonbaking powder
  6. 1 2/3cupsall-purpose flour
  7. 1/2teaspoonsalt
  8. 1/4teaspoonground nutmegor mace
  9. 1/4cup choppedalmonds
  10. 1egg white, slightly beaten
  11. granulatedsugar, to roll balls into

DIRECTIONS

  1. Boil the two whole eggs, cool and peel.
  2. Remove the yolks and press through a seive so it is fine ground.
  3. Eat the cooked whites for your lunch or snack–!
  4. Cream shortening and 1/2 cup of the granulated sugar.
  5. Cream very well.
  6. Add the seived egg yolks and blend.
  7. Add the orange zest and blend.
  8. Sift the dry ingredients and the other 1/2 cup of granulated sugar together.
  9. Cut the dry ingredients into the creamed ingredients.
  10. Add the almonds.
  11. Shape into walnut size balls.
  12. Dip into slightly frothy egg white.
  13. Roll into extra granulated sugar.
  14. Bake in preheated oven 350 degrees for 16- 18 minutes, until golden on bottoms.
  15. Can dredge in icing powder if desired.
