Russian Rocks Recipe

INGREDIENTS

  1. 1 1/2cupsbrown sugar
  2. 1cupbutter
  3. 3eggs
  4. 2 3/4cups siftedflour
  5. 1teaspoonbaking soda
  6. 2teaspoonscinnamon
  7. 1teaspooncloves
  8. 1lb seededraisins
  9. 1lb shelledpecans
  10. 1teaspoonvanilla

DIRECTIONS

  1. Cream butter and sugar.
  2. Add well beaten eggs and mix dry ingredients alternately.
  3. Add vanilla.
  4. Drop from spoon on greased cookie sheet.
  5. Bake in moderate oven, 350 degrees, 10-12 minutes.

Mary’s Yum Yum Cake Recipe

INGREDIENTS

  1. 1 (20 ounce)canpineapples
  2. 2 1/2cupsflour
  3. 1 1/2cupssugar
  4. 1teaspoonbaking soda
  5. 1/2teaspoonsalt
  6. 2eggs, slightly beaten
  7. Frosting

  8. 1/2cupmargarine
  9. 1cupsugar
  10. 3/4cupevaporated milk
  11. 1cupcoconut
  12. 1/2cupnuts

DIRECTIONS

  1. Mix all cake ingredients together.
  2. Bake in a greased and floured 9×13 pan for 35-40 min at 350 degrees.
  3. To make frosting: Add to sauce pan, margarine, sugar and evaporated milk. Bring to a boil and boil for approximately 5 minute Remove from heat and stir in coconut and nuts.
  4. Pour the frosting on the hot cake.

Veal Stew à La Hongroise Recipe

INGREDIENTS

  1. 2lbsstewing veal, cut into bite-size pieces
  2. 3tablespoonsextra virgin olive oil
  3. 1onion, chopped
  4. 1green pepper, chopped
  5. 1 1/2cupsmushrooms, sliced
  6. 5ouncestomato paste
  7. 14ouncescanned tomatoes
  8. 50mlbrandy
  9. 2cupsbeef broth
  10. 2tablespoonssweet paprika
  11. 1/4teaspooncayenne
  12. 1/2teaspoonsavory
  13. 1/2teaspoonsalt
  14. 1/2teaspoonpepper
  15. 250mlsour cream

DIRECTIONS

  1. Heat 2 tbsp olive oil in a heavy skillet. Add onions and cook until soft but not brown. Transfer to a stew pot.
  2. Add veal to skillet without over-crowding and cook until nicely browned. Brown in batches if necessary. Transfer to stew pot.
  3. Remove skillet from heat and pour off excess oil and fat. Deglaze pan with brandy, scraping up brown bits on bottom of pan. Strain liquid into stew pot.
  4. Add beef stock, tomato paste and tomatoes to meat and onions. Add salt, pepper, paprika, cayenne and savory. Stir well.
  5. Cover tightly and simmer for 2 to 3 hours, or until meat is tender. Taste and adjust seasoning regularly.
  6. Sweat green pepper in a little oil until fragrant. Add to stew during last hour of cooking.
  7. Saute mushrooms in butter and oil until just wilted. Add to stew during last half hour of cooking.
  8. Serve with a generous dollop of sour cream on top.

Cheese Cookies Recipe

INGREDIENTS

  1. 2 1/2cupsflour, plain
  2. 8ouncessharp cheddar cheese
  3. 1cupbutteror margarine
  4. 1cup choppedpecans
  5. 1/2tablespoonsalt
  6. 1teaspoonred peppers

DIRECTIONS

  1. Soften and blend together cheese and butter; add other ingredients.
  2. Form into 4 rolls and wrap in foil or saran wrap.
  3. Freeze. Thaw slightly and slice about 1/4 inches
  4. Bake at 375 degrees for 15 minutes.
  5. Great to prepare ahead and will keep in freezer for several months.

Sausage Pizza Piena Recipe

INGREDIENTS

  1. 1tablespoonolive oil
  2. 1onion, chopped
  3. 1red bell pepper, diced
  4. 1green bell pepper, diced
  5. 1lbturkey sausage, casings removed
  6. 1teaspoondried marjoram
  7. 1loafbread dough, previously frozen(1lb.)
  8. 2cups shreddedmozzarella cheese(8 oz.)
  9. 2eggs, slightly beaten
  10. 3tablespoons frank’s orginal redhotpepper sauce(or use your favorite)
  11. 1tablespoonmilk
  12. gratedparmesan cheese
  13. sesame seeds

DIRECTIONS

  1. Heat oil in large nonstick skillet.
  2. Add onions and bell peppers; cook 5 minute or until tender.
  3. Add sausage and marjoram.
  4. Cook and stir 5 minute or until meat is no longer pink.
  5. Drain well, cool.
  6. Preheat oven to 375°F Cut dough in half.
  7. Roll half of dough into 14X10″ rectangle on lightly floured board.(Let dough rest 5 minute if dough springs back when rolling).
  8. Pat onto bottom and 1″ up the sides of greased 13×9x2″ baking pan.
  9. Roll out remaining half of dough to 13×9x2″
  10. rectangle; keep covered.
  11. Stir cheese, eggs and RedHot® sauce into sausage mixture; toss to coat evenly.
  12. Spoon evenly over bottom dough.
  13. Cover sausage mixture with top half of dough.
  14. Pinch top and bottom edges of dough to seal.
  15. Brush top lightly with milk.
  16. Sprinkle with Parmesan and sesame seeds.
  17. Bake 25 minute or until golden and bread sounds hollow when tapped.
  18. Let stand 10 minutes.
  19. Cut into squares to serve.
