Mom’s Favourite Chocolate Zucchini Cake Recipe

INGREDIENTS

  1. 1/4cupbutter
  2. 1/2cupoil
  3. 1 3/4cupssugar
  4. 2eggs
  5. 1teaspoonvanilla
  6. 1/2cupbuttermilk
  7. 2 1/2cupsflour
  8. 1/4cupcocoa powder
  9. 1/2teaspoonbaking powder
  10. 1/2teaspoonbaking soda
  11. 1/2teaspooncinnamon
  12. 1/2teaspooncloves
  13. 2cups gratedzucchini
  14. 1/4cupchocolate chips

DIRECTIONS

  1. Cream together butter, oil, sugar, eggs, vanilla and buttermilk.
  2. Sift dry ingredients and add to creamed mixture.
  3. Mix in zucchini and fold in chocolate chips.
  4. Bake in a buttered bundt pan.
  5. Dust with icing sugar before serving.

Sesame Onion Potatoes Recipe

INGREDIENTS

  1. 2mediumpotatoes or1 canwhite potatoes, rinsed
  2. 2-3tablespoonsonion soup mix, with dehydrated onions
  3. 2tablespoonssoy oil
  4. soy sauce
  5. black pepper
  6. garlic powder
  7. sesame seeds (optional)

DIRECTIONS

  1. Heat sesame oil in large frypan on a low flame.
  2. Add a few dashes of soy sauce; onion soup mix and stir.
  3. Evenly distribute mixture in the bottom of the pan.
  4. Slice potatoes into 1/4-inch slices, rinse and place flat in frypan.
  5. Sprinkle the rest of the onion soup mix on top of the potatoes and add pepper and garlic powder.
  6. Cover and let sit for approximately 5 minutes.
  7. Add a few dashes of soy sauce and using a spatula, gently lift and stir potatoes to mix seasonings.
  8. Remove from heat and cover for approximately 2 minutes.
  9. Serve hot.
  10. Notes: If you use raw potatoes, cooking time will be longer.
  11. The desired texture for the potatoes is fork tender.
  12. You can filter the onion soup mix by shaking it in a strainer to separate dehydrated onion from the powder.
  13. This way you can control the amount of seasonings you desire to add to your rice, sauces, onion dip, etc.
  14. To reduce sodium, use a ratio of 1 tablespoon of onion soup mix and 1 teaspoon of onion powder.
  15. Try this recipe with fresh baby spinach leaves added in Step 4.

Easy Tartar Sauce Recipe

  1. 1/4cupdill pickle relish
  2. 1/2cupMiracle Whip
  3. 1/4teaspoonlemon juice(or to taste)
  4. 1/2teaspoonmustard

DIRECTIONS

  1. Combine all ingredients in a small bowl.
  2. May add small amount of onion if desired.

German Chocolate Pie Recipe

INGREDIENTS

  1. 1 1/3cupscoconut
  2. 1/2cuppecans
  3. 2eggs
  4. 1/4cupbutter, melted
  5. 1/2cupcocoa
  6. 1 3/4cupssugar
  7. 3tablespoonscornstarch
  8. 1teaspoonvanilla
  9. 1/8teaspoonsalt
  10. 3/4cupevaporated milk

DIRECTIONS

  1. Mix coconut& pecans together& set aside.
  2. Put remaining ingredients in blender& blend til smooth.
  3. Pour in 9″ pie shell.
  4. Sprinkle with coconut& nuts.
  5. Bake at 375* for 45-50 minutes.

Creamy Bacon Noodles Recipe

INGREDIENTS

  1. 12slicesbacon
  2. 2cups slicedfresh mushrooms
  3. 6green onions, thinly sliced
  4. 2clovesgarlic, minced
  5. 1/2cuplight cream
  6. 1 (8 ounce)packagecream cheese, cubed
  7. 1/2teaspoondried basil
  8. 1/2teaspoondried thyme
  9. salt & freshly ground black pepper
  10. 2mediumtomatoes, finely chopped
  11. 1 (16 ounce)packagewide egg noodles, cooked according to package directions and drained

DIRECTIONS

  1. Cook bacon in a large skillet until crisp, remove with a slotted spoon, drain on paper towels then crumble.
  2. Pour off all but 2 tbls of the bacon fat, add mushrooms and cook over high heat until they begin to brown.
  3. Reduce heat to medium low, add green onion and garlic, cook and stir 1-2 minutes.
  4. Add cream, cream cheese, basil, thyme and bacon, reduce heat to low and stir until cheese melts and sauce is smooth.
  5. Add tomatoe, season with salt and pepper, pour over hot noodles and serve.
