Cajun Popcorn Recipe

INGREDIENTS

  1. 2lbs rawcrayfish tailsor shrimp
  2. 2eggs
  3. 1cupdry white wine
  4. 1/2cup finecornmeal
  5. 1/2cupflour
  6. 2teaspoonsfresh chives
  7. 1clove mincedgarlic
  8. 1/2teaspoonthyme
  9. 1/4teaspoonsalt
  10. 1/4teaspooncayenne pepper
  11. 1/4teaspoonpepper
  12. oil(for deep frying)

DIRECTIONS

  1. Rinse the crawfish tails or shrimp in cold water, drain well ans set aside.
  2. Whisk together the eggs and wine in a small bowl, set aside.
  3. Combine the cornmeal, flour,chives,garlic, thyme,salt, pepper and cayenne pepper.
  4. Gradually whisk in the egg mixture, blending well.
  5. Cover the batter and let stand at room temperature for about one hour.
  6. Heat 2-3 inches oil in large frying pan to 375 degrees.
  7. Dip the seafood into the batter and fry in small batches 2-3 minutes, turning until golden brown.
  8. Drain on paper towels.

Old Fashioned Muffins Recipe

INGREDIENTS

  1. 2cupsall-purpose flour
  2. 1/2cupsugar
  3. 2teaspoonsbaking powder
  4. 1teaspoonsalt
  5. 1/4cupbutter
  6. 1/4cupshortening
  7. 1/2cupmilk
  8. 1/2teaspoonvanilla
  9. 2eggs, beaten
  10. 1 1/2cupsblueberries

DIRECTIONS

  1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees.
  2. In medium bowl, combine dry ingredients and mix well.
  3. Cut in butter and shortening until mixture resembles fine crumbs.
  4. Combine milk, vanilla and eggs and blueberries.
  5. Add to dry mix until just moistened.
  6. Spoon into prepared pan filling each cup 3/4 full.
  7. Bake 30-35 minutes.
  8. Cool five minutes before serving.
  9. *Variation: leave out the blueberries and reduce cooking time to 20-25 minutes.

Nutella Spiced Sugar Cookies Recipe

INGREDIENTS

  1. 2/3cupshortening
  2. 12tablespoonsunsalted butter, softened
  3. 3/4cupgranulated sugar
  4. 1largeegg
  5. 1/4teaspoonvanilla extract
  6. 1/2teaspoonbaking powder
  7. 3 1/2cupsall-purpose flour
  8. 2teaspoonsginger
  9. 1teaspoonground black pepper
  10. 2teaspoonscinnamon
  11. 1/2teaspoonsalt
  12. 1/2cupnutella
  13. 2 1/2tablespoonsmilk
  14. 2tablespoonsconfectioners’ sugar, sifted

DIRECTIONS

  1. To make Nutella Spiced Sugar Cookies: In a medium bowl, cream the butter, shortening and sugar with a hand mixer on high speed for 2 minutes.
  2. Add the egg and vanilla and beat for 1 minute.
  3. Stir in the remaining dry ingredients on low speed just until combined.
  4. divide the dough in half and flatten each piece slightly (about 1-inch thickness), cover tightly with plastic wrap and refrigerate for about 1 hour.
  5. Preheat the oven to 375°F.
  6. Roll out each piece on wax paper to 1/8-inch thickness.
  7. Use cookie cutters to cut desired shapes.
  8. For Halloween bats, pumpkins, headstones and owls are appropriate shapes.
  9. Bake on on cookie sheet for 10 minutes.
  10. Cool completely.
  11. To Make the Glaze: Heat the Nutella, milk and confectioner’s sugar in a small pot over low heat until combined and slightly warm.
  12. Spread each cookie with the glaze and decorate as desired with jimmies, sprinkles, mini chips, or halloween candy.
  13. Allow to set on a wire rack.
  14. Store in an airtight container.
  15. Theese cookies can be baked ahead of time and frozen, unglazed for up to 6 weeks if stored in an airtight container.

INGREDIENTS

  1. 1/2cup mincedonions
  2. 1cupsour cream
  3. 1clovegarlic, minced
  4. 1/4cupbutter
  5. 1lbground beef
  6. 2tablespoonsflour
  7. 1teaspoonsalt
  8. 1/4teaspoonpepper
  9. 2-3cansmushroom stems and pieces, drained
  10. 1cancream of mushroom soup(I always use the top name brand.)
  11. 1bagegg noodles, cooked

DIRECTIONS

  1. Saute onion and garlic in butter over medium heat.
  2. stir in ground beef and brown stir in flour, salt, mushrooms, and pepper cook 5 minutes, then stir in soup simmer uncovered 10 minutes stir in sour cream untill heated, serve over noodles.

Sage Sausage Stuffed Mushrooms - SBD Recipe

INGREDIENTS

  1. 40mushrooms, stems removed
  2. 1/2cupbutter, melted
  3. 10ounces bulksage sausage
  4. 1tablespoon choppedgreen onions
  5. 1/4teaspoonpepper
  6. 1clovegarlic, minced
  7. 1tablespoonfresh parsley
  8. 8ouncescream cheese

DIRECTIONS

  1. Place mushrooms in shallow baking dish.
  2. Brush with melted butter.
  3. Brown sausage, onions and garlic in skillet.
  4. Drain.
  5. Mix in pepper, parsley and cream cheese.
  6. Heat to blend all ingredients and melt cheese.
  7. Stuff mushrooms with filling.
