Vegetables in Beer Batter Recipe

INGREDIENTS

  1. 1 1/4cupsbeer
  2. 1 1/3cups siftedall-purpose flour
  3. 2tablespoonsparmesan cheese
  4. 1tablespoon choppedfresh parsley
  5. 1teaspoonsalt
  6. 1dashgarlic powder
  7. 1tablespoonolive oil
  8. 2 beatenegg yolks
  9. 2 stiff beatenegg whites

DIRECTIONS

  1. Let beer stand 45 minutes or until flat at room temp.
  2. Combine sifted flour, cheese, parsley, salt, and garlic powder.
  3. Stir in olive oil, beer, egg yolks,and blend until smooth.
  4. Fold in stiffly beaten egg whites.
  5. Dip vegetables into batter.
  6. Fry in deep fat 375 degrees F.
  7. a few at a time, until golden 2- 5 minutes.
  8. Drain on absorbent paper.
  9. Sprinkle with a little salt and serve.
  10. Makes three cups batter.
  11. Vegetables: zucchini, eggplant, cauliflower, red peppers, mushrooms, mozzarella cheese cubes, etc.

Yakitori Recipe

INGREDIENTS

  1. 1 1/2cupsmirin
  2. 3/4cupsoy sauce
  3. 4tablespoonssugar
  4. 1garlic clove, pressed (optional)
  5. 1lbboneless chicken thighs
  6. 1-2green onion, in inch-long pieces (optional)
  7. 8bamboo skewers

DIRECTIONS

  1. Put mirin, soy sauce, sugar and garlic, if using, into a medium-sized sauce pan, and cook over medium heat until there is only half as much sauce remaining.
  2. Let cool slightly while you are preparing the chicken.
  3. Cut chicken into bite-sized pieces; keeping the skin on is usual in Japan.
  4. Thread chicken onto skewers, alternating with green onion if desired.
  5. Begin grilling the chicken skewers on both sides without the sauce, when the meat starts changing color, brush the sauce on both sides, and continue grilling, brushing on sauce about 3 times total, and turning until done.

  5. chocolate shavings

DIRECTIONS

  1. Shake the vodka, amaretto, kahlua and cream together.
  2. Pour into 2 lovely tall glasses sprinkle with the chocolate shavings cheers!

Strawberries With Spiced Cream Shortcake Recipe

INGREDIENTS

  1. 1 1/2pints fresh washedstrawberries, hulled
  2. 1 1/2cups freshsour cream
  3. 1/4teaspoonnutmeg, grated fresh
  4. 1/4-1/2teaspoonground cinnamon
  5. 1 1/4cups firmly packedbrown sugar
  6. 2teaspoonsGrand Marnieror rum extract
  7. 1loafpoundcake, sliced thin

DIRECTIONS

  1. Combine all ingredients except the cake slices.
  2. Mix lightly to blend.
  3. Chill for several hours or even overnite.
  4. When ready to serve slice cake thin Spoon berry mixture oover slices on individual serving dishes.

BBQ Jalapeno Cornish Game Hens Recipe

INGREDIENTS

  1. rock cornish game hens, 1 bird per person
  2. jalapeno jelly(see my recipes or even better Toby Jermain’s #71979 orstore bought(but his and mine are better))
  3. fresh lime juice

DIRECTIONS

  1. Crank up the Barbie, medium heat.
  2. Split the hens in half down the keel.
  3. Wash well and pat dry.
  4. Mix Jelly with enough Lime Juice to be as thick as BBQ sauce.
  5. (Each batch will vary, its trial as you go.) Baste the birds, place on grill on medium heat.
  6. Cook, turn, and baste.
  7. Cook, turn, and baste.
  8. Watch the heat, They’ll burn easily.
  9. Continue’til the juice between the leg and thigh runs clear.
  10. Serve with Saffron Basmati Rice and a Leaf lettuce salad made with a varity of lettuces that is dressed with lemon or Lime Juice.
