Mushroom Bacon Pie Recipe

INGREDIENTS

  1. 1lbmushrooms, sliced
  2. 6slices dicedbacon
  3. 2cloves mincedgarlic
  4. 2tablespoonsfresh parsley, chopped
  5. 3tablespoonsolive oil
  6. 4eggs, beaten
  7. 1cup gratedparmesan cheese
  8. 1/2teaspoonsalt
  9. 1/8teaspoonblack pepper
  10. 19″ unbaked pie shell

DIRECTIONS

  1. Saute mushrooms, bacon, garlic and parsley in oil until mushrooms are tender.
  2. Drain and cool for 10 minutes.
  3. Combine eggs, cheese and seasonings and mix well.
  4. Stir into mushroom mixture and pour into pie shell.
  5. Bake at 350° for 30 minutes.

Bratwurst and Kraut Casserole Recipe

INGREDIENTS

  1. 2 (14 ounce)canssauerkraut
  2. 1largeonion(chopped)
  3. 2clovesgarlic(crushed)
  4. 3/4cupbrown sugar
  5. 1bay leaf
  6. 1packagekielbasa, cut into 1 to 2 inch pieces
  7. 4-6potatoes, peeled and cut into 1 inch squares

DIRECTIONS

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  2. I put mine in the crockpot.
  3. Drain and rinse sauerkraut in a colander.
  4. Mix with all the ingredients in a bowl and pour into large casserole dish (or put in crockpot) Cover and bake for 1 1/4 to 1 1/2 hours.
  5. Or let cook in crockpot on low for several hours until potatoes are tender.I usually add 1 can of water and mix well…Add more water accordinally throughout the day.
  6. I let mine cook all day on low.
  7. You can also try substituting the brown sugar with applesauce and apple chunks (1/2 cup each) for color and texture.
  8. I also use the Boverian kraut– this gives this dish a sweeter flavor– even my kids like it.

Sour Cream Coconut Quick Bread Recipe

INGREDIENTS

  1. 1/4lbbutter
  2. 1cupsugar
  3. 2eggs
  4. 2teaspoonscoconut extract
  5. 1cupsour cream(8oz)
  6. 1cupcoconut
  7. 2cupsflour
  8. 1teaspoonbaking powder
  9. 1teaspoonbaking soda

DIRECTIONS

  1. Cream together butter and sugar.
  2. Beat in eggs and coconut extract.
  3. Mix in sour cream, then add coconut and mix well.
  4. Stir flour, baking powder and baking soda together and add to batter and mix well.
  5. Place batter into greased loaf pan and bake at 350° for 45 to 50 minutes or until done.

Hamburger Chow-Mein Recipe

INGREDIENTS

  1. 1lbhamburger, browned
  2. 1smallonion, chopped
  3. 3celery ribs, chopped
  4. 1 (10 1/2 ounce)cancream of chicken soup
  5. soy sauce
  6. chow mein noodles
  7. rice

DIRECTIONS

  1. Sauté onion and celery just until tender.
  2. Brown hamburger in large skillet.Add onion and celery to hamburger.
  3. Add one can of cream of chicken soup and 1/2 can of water.Add soy sauce to taste.
  4. Let simmer 5-10 minutes.
  5. Serve over white rice and top with chow mein noodles.
  6. NOTE: If too runny, you can add flour to thicken up to your liking.

Hamburger Gravy Recipe

INGREDIENTS

  1. 1 1/2lbshamburger
  2. beef gravy(either home made or store bought, either works)
  3. mashed potatoes

DIRECTIONS

  1. Brown hamburger in large pot (you don’t want to crumble it up too fine–big pieces are the best).
  2. Make gravy and add to pot.Let it simmer until heated.
  3. Serve over mashed potatoes.
  4. NOTE: You don’t want this too runny–kind of thick and with big chunks of hamburger is the best.
