Apple Cake Recipe

INGREDIENTS

  1. 1 (18 1/2 ounce)packageyellow cake mix
  2. 1 (3 1/2 ounce)packagevanilla instant pudding mix
  3. 4eggs
  4. 1cupsour cream
  5. 1/2cupvegetable oil
  6. 6apples, peeled,cored and sliced
  7. 1/2cupwhite sugar
  8. 2teaspoonsground cinnamon
  9. 1/2cup choppedwalnuts (optional)

DIRECTIONS

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  2. Grease and flour a 10 inch Bundt pan.
  3. In a large bowl, stir together the cake mix and instant pudding.
  4. Add the eggs, sour cream and oil.
  5. Mix until well blended.
  6. In a small bowl, combine the sugar, cinnamon and walnuts.
  7. Pour half the batter into the prepared pan.
  8. Place a layer of sliced apples over the batter.
  9. Sprinkle with 1/2 the cinnamon mixture.
  10. Pour remaining batter over top and repeat with the remaining apples and cinnamon.
  11. Bake for 60 to 70 minutes.
  12. Cool for 1/2 hour before removing from the pan to cool completely.

Caramel Apple Pudding Recipe

INGREDIENTS

  1. 1cupall-purpose flour
  2. 1/3 packedbrown sugar
  3. 2teaspoonsbaking powder
  4. 1teaspooncinnamon
  5. 1/4teaspoonsalt
  6. 1/2cupcurrants(optional) or choppedwalnuts (optional)
  7. 2apples, cored and unpeeled
  8. 1/2cupmilk
  9. 2tablespoonsbutter, melted
  10. Sauce

  11. 1 3/4boiling water
  12. 1cup packedbrown sugar
  13. 1tablespoonall-purpose flour
  14. 1tablespoonbutter, softenened
  15. 2teaspoonsvanilla

DIRECTIONS

  1. In bowl, combine 1 cup flour, 1/3 cup brown sugar, baking powder, cinnamon, salt and currants or walnuts (if desired).
  2. Thinly slice half of one apple; set aside. Chop remaining apples and add to flour mixture along with milk and melted butter; mix well.
  3. Spread in buttered 9-inch square metal cake pan.
  4. Arrange apple slices on top.
  5. Sauce: In bowl, whisk together water, brown sugar, flour, butter and vanilla; gently pour over batter.
  6. Bake in 350° oven for 30 to 40 minutes or until tester inserted in cake comes out clean.
  7. Serve warm.

Sugared Sweet Potato Patties Recipe

INGREDIENTS

  1. 8sweet potatoes, patties(usally found near frozen vegetables)
  2. 2tablespoonsbutter
  3. 4tablespoonsbrown sugar
  4. 1/2teaspooncinnamon

DIRECTIONS

  1. In a nonstick skillet melt butter on medium heat.
  2. Add patties and sprinkle tops with brown sugar and cinnamon.
  3. When patties start to sizzle turn them over and sprinkle other side.
  4. Let patties cook on each side until a nice crispy crust forms (usually 2-3 minutes on each side).

Maple, Caramel, and Macadamia Nut Tart Recipe

INGREDIENTS

  1. Crust

  2. 1 1/2cupsall-purpose flour
  3. 2tablespoonsgranulated sugar
  4. 1teaspoonground cinnamon
  5. 1/2teaspoonsalt
  6. 12tablespoons chilledunsalted butter, cut into small pieces
  7. 1teaspoonvanilla extract
  8. 3-4tablespoonsice water
  9. Filling

  10. 1 1/4cupsgranulated sugar
  11. 1/4cupwater
  12. 1/2cupwhipping cream
  13. 2tablespoonsunsalted butter, cut small
  14. 2tablespoonspure maple syrup
  15. 1teaspoonvanilla extract
  16. 2cups choppedmacadamias(or nuts of choice)
  17. 1ouncewhite chocolate, finely chopped
  18. Maple whipped cream

  19. 1cupwhipping cream
  20. 2tablespoonspure maple syrup
  21. 1teaspoonvanilla extract
  22. 1tablespoongranulated sugar

DIRECTIONS

  1. For the crust: mix flour, sugar, cinnamon and salt in bowl.
  2. Cut butter in until fine
  3. Mix in vanilla and enough ice water by tablespoons until it can be formed into a ball; cover in plastic wrap and refrigerate until firm (approximately 2 hours).
  4. Preheat oven to 400°F.
  5. Roll chilled dough out to 12 inch round and transfer to 9 inch tart pan with removable bottom, pressing dough gently into pan and trimming it so it has about 1/2 inch overhang.
  6. Fold overhang in and press, forming a high-standing, double thick edge.
  7. Pierce all over with a fork and bake until sides are set (about 20 minutes).
  8. Pie weights may be used, if desired.
  9. If weights are used, remove at this time.
  10. Reduce the heat to 375F, return crust to oven and bake another 12 minutes.
  11. For the filling: Combine sugar and water in a heavy saucepan.
  12. Stir over medium low heat until sugar dissolves; increase heat and boil without stirring about 7 minutes or until caramel is a deep amber color, occasionally brushing down sides of pan with a wet pastry brush.
  13. Reduce heat to medium, add cream and stir until smooth.
  14. Add butter, syrup and vanilla and stir until well blended.
  15. Mix in nuts and pour mixture into crust Bake until the filling bubbles, about 15 to 20 minutes.
  16. Remove from oven and cool completely on wire rack.
  17. Melt white chocolate in microwave and drizzle decoratively over top of tart.
  18. For the Maple Whipped Cream: Place cream in a chilled bowl and add syrup and vanilla.
  19. Beat until soft peaks form and slowly add sugar, beating until desired consistency.
  20. Serve tart with whipped cream.

Chocolate Candy Squares Recipe

INGREDIENTS

  1. 1/2cupbutter or margarine, melted
  2. 2cupsvanilla wafer crumbs
  3. 1cup choppedwalnuts
  4. 1 (6 ounce)packagechocolate chips
  5. 1 1/2cupsflaked coconut
  6. 2/3cupevaporated milk
  7. 1cupbrown sugar(firmly packed)

DIRECTIONS

  1. Set oven to 350 degrees.
  2. Grease a 13 x 9-in pan.
  3. Pour melted butter in bottom of baking dish.
  4. Sprinkle Vanilla wafer crumbs evenly over butter.
  5. Sprinkle walnuts over crumbs.
  6. Sprinkle chocolate chips over nuts.
  7. Sprinkle coconut over chocolate.
  8. Combine milk with brown sugar, stir until smooth.
  9. Pour evenly over layers.
  10. Bake for 22-25 mins (don’t overbake!).
  11. Cool for 1 hour.
  12. Cut into squares.
