INGREDIENTS
- 5lbsrusset potatoes, chunked
- 1/2cupmilk
- 2tablespoonsdill weed
- 1tablespoonsalt
- 2teaspoonsblack pepper
- 1lbham, cubed
DIRECTIONS
- Peel and chunk potatoes; boil in just enough water to cover.
- add all ingredients except milk; when potates are tender, slightly mash about 1/2 of the potatoes.
- add milk simmer 20 min.
- serve with warm buttered bread.

INGREDIENTS
- 1lbground beef
- 1/2onion, chopped
- 2clovesgarlic, minced
- 2canspinto beans or red beans, drained and rinsed
- 3 (14 ounce)cans dicedtomatoes and green chilies
- 1tablespoonunsweetened cocoa powder
- 2tablespoonschili powder
- 1teaspooncumin
- salt and pepper
DIRECTIONS
- In a skillet, brown ground beef, garlic and onion drain, and put ground beef in crock pot.
- Add beans, tomatoes, spices and cocoa powder.
- Cook in crockpot on low for 4-5 hours.
- Serve with cornbread if desired.

INGREDIENTS
- 1cupraisins
- 1cupshortening
- 1cupgranulated sugar
- 1cupbrown sugar
- 3tablespoonsmilk
- 2eggs
- 2teaspoonsvanilla extract
- 1 1/2cupsflour
- 1/2teaspoonsalt
- 1teaspoonbaking soda
- 1 1/2cups chopped/pureedpersimmons(or pureed apricots)
- 2cupsrolled oats
DIRECTIONS
- Preheat oven to 375 degrees.
- Cover raisins with water in a small saucepan and boil them until they are soft; drain.
- In a large bowl, blend the shortening, sugars, milk, eggs, and vanilla.
- Beat well.
- Add the flour, salt, and soda.
- Beat again and stir in the raisins, persimmons (or apricots), and oats.
- Bake at 375 degrees for about 10 minutes, taking cookies out while they are soft.
- Cool cookies before removing them from the baking pan.

INGREDIENTS
- 1largecarrot

- 1stalkcelery
- 3 (15 ounce)canschicken broth
- 2 (16 ounce)packagesfrozen mixed vegetables
DIRECTIONS
- Peel and dice the carrot, potato, and onion; chop celery.
- Place the chopped vegetables into a pot and add the chicken broth.
- Heat and bring to a boil; cover and simmer for 15 minutes.
- Add the frozen mixed vegetables and simmer for another 10 minutes.

INGREDIENTS
- 1/2cuppeanut butter
- 16 hardbreadsticks
- 1cupgoldfish crackers
DIRECTIONS
- Put 1 tablespoon of peanut butter, 2 breadsticks and a few crackers on a large plate for each child.
- Let the kids dip their breadstick in the peanut butter.
- Then use the peanut buttered stick to”fish” for the fish-shaped crackers on their plates.
