Country Style Potatoes Recipe

INGREDIENTS

  1. 3largerusset potatoes
  2. 1/4cupbutter
  3. 1cupsmall curd cottage cheese
  4. 1/2mediumonion(diced)
  5. 1/3teaspoongarlic salt
  6. black pepper
  7. paprika

DIRECTIONS

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
  2. Scrub potatoes under running water thoroughly.
  3. Slice them (skin on) lengthwise into quarters.
  4. Slice each of the quarters across into 4 chunks.
  5. In a pot add potatoe chunks with enough water to cover them.
  6. Boil 25-35 mins or until tender when pierced with a fork.
  7. .
  8. Drain chunks.
  9. In a bowl mash potatoes with a hand masher to a very coarse texture adding 2 Tbs butter at the same time.
  10. To the potatoes gently mix in the cottage cheese, onion, garlic salt and pepper to taste.
  11. Pour mixture into a greased casserole dish– place small pieces of the remaining 2 Tbs of butter over top of the potatoes.
  12. Sprinkle with small amount of Paprika.
  13. Bake uncovered for 30 mins.
  14. Let cool for 10 mins or so before serving.

Easy Cinnamon Apple Rings (microwave) Recipe

INGREDIENTS

  1. 3tablespoonsbutter
  2. 2tablespoonslemon juice
  3. 2tablespoonshoney
  4. 1/4teaspooncinnamon
  5. 4mediumcooking apples, unpeeled,cored,and cut into 1/2 in rings

DIRECTIONS

  1. place the butter in a 12×8-in baking dish.
  2. microwave on HIGH for 50 seconds, or until butter melts.
  3. stir in the lemon juice, honey and cinnamon with the melted butter.
  4. place apple slices in the butter mixture, turning to coat both sides.
  5. cover with heavy-duty plastic wrap.
  6. microwave at HIGH for 5-6 mins, or until apples are tender, give the dish a half-turn after 2 mins.
  7. let stand for 2 mins before serving.

Snickerdoodles from Cake Mix Recipe

INGREDIENTS

  1. 18 1/4ouncesyellow cake mix, i use duncan hines
  2. 2eggs
  3. 1/3cupvegetable oil
  4. 1/2cupsugar
  5. 2teaspoonsvanilla extract
  6. 2teaspoonsground cinnamon

DIRECTIONS

  1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit.
  2. In a large bowl mix cake mix, oil, eggs and vanilla extract.
  3. Stir until well blended.
  4. In a separate small bowl mix sugar and cinnamon.
  5. Form cookie dough into 1 inch balls.
  6. Roll balls in cinnamon-sugar mixture until completely covered.
  7. Place on cookie sheets.
  8. Bake@ 275 degrees Fahrenheit for 8-10 minutes until lightly browned.
  9. Remove to wire rack to cool.

Better than Sex-Healthy Version Recipe

INGREDIENTS

  1. 1boxangel food cake mix
  2. 1 (20 ounce)cancrushed pineapple, in juice
  3. 2 (3 ounce)packagessugar-free instant vanilla pudding mix
  4. 3cupsskim milk
  5. 1 (8 ounce)containerCool Whip Lite, thawed
  6. 3/4cup shreddedcoconut (optional)

DIRECTIONS

  1. In a 13×9 pan bake Angel Food Cake according to package directions.
  2. While cake bakes cook undrained pineapple until syrupy, Remove cake from oven and poke holes evenly, use a two tined fork.
  3. Pour pineapple evenlly over cake.
  4. Cool completely.
  5. When cake is cool, mix pudding mix and milk and spread over cake.
  6. Spread cool whip lite over pudding.
  7. Sprinkle with coconut.
  8. Refrigerate.
  9. Cake tastes better if made 24 hours before serving.

Date Bars Recipe

INGREDIENTS

  1. DATE FILLING

  2. 3cupsdates, chopped
  3. 1/4cupsugar
  4. 1 1/2cupswater
  5. CRUST MIXTURE

  6. 1/2cupbutteror margarine
  7. 1/4cupshortening
  8. 1cupbrown sugar, packed
  9. 1 3/4cupsall-purpose flour
  10. 1teaspoonsalt
  11. 1/2teaspoonbaking soda
  12. 1 1/2cupsquick-cooking oats

DIRECTIONS

  1. Date Filling: Mix 3 cups chopped dates (1 lb.) with 1/4 cup sugar and 1 1/2 cups water in saucepan.
  2. Cook over low heat, stirring constantly, about 10 minutes or until thickened; Cool.
  3. Grease 13×9 baking pan.
  4. Crust Mixture: Cream butter, shortening, and brown sugar.
  5. Mix in remaining ingredients.
  6. Press half the mixture in bottom of pan.
  7. Spread with filling.
  8. Top with remaining crumble mixture, pressing lightly.
  9. Bake at 400°F 25 to 30 minutes or until light brown.
  10. While warm, cut into bars about 2 inches X 1 1/2 inches.
  11. VARIATION: You can omit date filling and substitute 1 cup of your favorite jam.
