Strawberry Cake Recipe

INGREDIENTS

  1. CAKE

  2. 1packagewhite cake mix
  3. 3tablespoonsflour
  4. 1/2cupwater
  5. 5ouncesfrozen strawberries
  6. 2/3cupoil
  7. 3eggs
  8. 1 (3 ounce)boxstrawberry Jell-O gelatin dessert
  9. ICING

  10. 1/2cup softenedbutter
  11. 3ouncescream cheese, softened
  12. 1lbpowdered sugar
  13. strawberries

DIRECTIONS

  1. Mix cake mix, flour and jello together.
  2. Add water, berries eggs and oil.
  3. Beat thoroughly.
  4. Bake at 350 for 30-35 minutes in a greased 9×13 pan or until light brown.
  5. ICING: Beat butter and cream cheese together.
  6. Add powdered sugar and enough strawberries to make mixture fluffy.

Spinach Pasta Salad Recipe

INGREDIENTS

  1. 8ouncesziti pasta or rigatoni pasta, cooked,drained,and rinsed
  2. 1cup lightly packedfresh spinach leaves
  3. 1/4cup lightly packedfresh basil leaves
  4. 2clovesgarlic
  5. 2tablespoons shreddedparmesan cheese
  6. 1/8teaspoonsalt
  7. 1/8teaspoonpepper
  8. 1tablespoonolive oil
  9. 1tablespoonwater
  10. 1/2cuplight mayonnaise

DIRECTIONS

  1. In a blender combine spinach, basil, garlic, cheese, salt and pepper.
  2. Add oil and water, cover and blend until nearly smooth and mixture is a paste.
  3. Add mayo to the spinach mixture.
  4. Add to pasta and toss well to coat.
  5. Chill at least 4 hours covered.
  6. Can be made the day before.

Oreo Salad Recipe

INGREDIENTS

  1. 1/2gallonvanilla ice cream
  2. 2boxespistachio pudding mix
  3. 1/2cupbutter
  4. 1cupmilk
  5. 1packageOreo cookies
  6. 1 (8 ounce)containerCool Whip

DIRECTIONS

  1. Crush 2 rows of oreos.
  2. Press in 9×13 pan and pour melted stick of butter over crumbs.
  3. Freeze until hardened.
  4. Mix milk and pudding, then add softened ice cream.
  5. Mix well.
  6. Pour over crust.
  7. Freeze.
  8. Spread with cool whip and sprinkle with remaining crumbled oreos.

Yellow Split Pea Soup Recipe

INGREDIENTS

  1. 1 (1 lb)packageyellow split peas
  2. 1lbham steak, cubed
  3. 1largeonion, minced
  4. 2carrots, finely diced
  5. 2celery ribs, finely diced
  6. 4largepotatoes, coarsely diced
  7. 1bay leaf
  8. 1/2teaspoonthyme leaves
  9. 2 1/2quartsham stock(or water, and boullion cubes)
  10. salt and pepper

DIRECTIONS

  1. Wash and sort peas.
  2. Place all ingredients except potatoes in a larger soup pot and bring to a boil.
  3. Cover and reduce heat to medium low, and simmer 30 minutes or so.
  4. Add potatoes and continue to simmer 1-2 hours, or until desired thickness is achieved.
  5. The longer you leave it on the heat, the thicker it will become.
  6. Serve hot with caraway rye bread.

Tuna Casserole in Dill Sauce Recipe

INGREDIENTS

  1. 1/2cupsour cream
  2. 1/2cupmayonnaise, do not use low fat
  3. 2teaspoons spicyprepared mustard
  4. 1/2teaspoonsalt
  5. 1/2teaspoondried thyme
  6. 1/2teaspoondill weed
  7. 5cups cookedegg noodles
  8. 2 (6 ounce)canstuna, drained
  9. 1/2cup choppedcelery
  10. 1smallzucchini, sliced
  11. 1cup shreddedcheddar cheese
  12. 1mediumtomato, chopped
  13. 1jalapeno, chopped

DIRECTIONS

  1. In a small bowl combine first 6 ingredients.
  2. In a seperate bowl comibine noodles, tuna, celery, and jalepeno.
  3. Stir in sour cream mixture.
  4. In grease 2 quart, microwave safe dish, pour half of noodle mixture.
  5. Cover with a layer of sliced zucchini.
  6. Repeat layers.
  7. Microwave on high 6-8 minutes uncovered.
  8. Sprinkle with cheese and tomato.
  9. Microwave 2-3 minutes longer.
  10. Let stand 3 minutes.
