Oatmeal School Cookies Recipe

INGREDIENTS

  1. 1/2cupbutter
  2. 3/4cupbrown sugar
  3. 1egg
  4. 1 1/2teaspoonsvanilla
  5. 1/2teaspoonsalt
  6. 1/2cupwhole wheat flour
  7. 3/4teaspoonbaking powder
  8. 1cupwheat germor mixture withflax seeds
  9. 1 1/2cupsrolled oats
  10. 3/4cupraisins
  11. 1/2cup choppednuts

DIRECTIONS

  1. Preheat oven to 375.
  2. Cream together the butter and sugar with electric beaters.
  3. Add the egg, vanilla, and salt and beat well.
  4. Stir flour, baking powder, wheat germ, and rolled oats together with a fork.
  5. Add raisins so they get rolled in flour and don’t stick together.
  6. Blend well with other ingredients; I usually end up using my hands.
  7. Add a little water if necessary to hold mixture together.
  8. Place by tablespoonful on greased cookie sheets.
  9. Flatten them slightly.
  10. Bake for 10-12 minutes.

Buttered Ginger Carrots Recipe

INGREDIENTS

  1. 1lbcarrots, peeled and sliced
  2. 1piecefresh gingerroot, about the size of the top joint of your thumb
  3. 1/2teaspoonsalt
  4. 1/2teaspoonsugar
  5. 1/2ouncebutter
  6. 1/2pintwater

DIRECTIONS

  1. Peel and cut the ginger into matchstick slices.
  2. Place all the ingredients in a saucepan.
  3. Bring to the boil over a rapid heat.
  4. Reduce the heat and simmer for about ten minutes.
  5. Drain and serve with a small knob of butter on top.

Buffalo Chicken Dip Recipe

INGREDIENTS

  1. 2 (5 ounce)canschickens, drained((by the tuna in the grocery store))
  2. 2 (8 ounce)packagescream cheese, softened
  3. 1cupranch dressing
  4. 3/4cupred hot sauce
  5. shreddedcheddar cheese, you decide how much
  6. Frito corn chips, scoops

DIRECTIONS

  1. Beat cream cheese, ranch dressing, and red hot sauce.
  2. Fold in shredded chicken.
  3. Spread mixture into pie plate sprayed with Pam.
  4. Bake at 350 degrees for 15 minutes.
  5. Add cheddar to top and bake an additional 10-15 minutes.
  6. Serve hot with Frito scoops.

Baked Cheesy Prawns Recipe

INGREDIENTS

  1. 1lb shelledprawns(defrosted if frozen)
  2. 50mlolive oil
  3. 2tablespoonslemon juice
  4. 2clovesgarlic, crushed
  5. 1teaspoon finely choppedthyme
  6. 4-5mediumplum tomatoes, seeded and finely chopped
  7. 200gfeta cheese, crumbled
  8. 1/2teaspoonblack pepper

DIRECTIONS

  1. Combine olive oil, garlic, lemon juice and thyme as a marinade and pour over the prawns in a shallow dish.
  2. Cover and refrigerate for ½ an hour or so.
  3. Pre-heat the oven to maximum!
  4. Mix the remaining ingredients Divide the prawns and marinade into 4 or 5 individual, shallow, fireproof dishes.
  5. Sprinkle over the remaining ingredients Bake in the oven until sizzling.
  6. Serve immediately with plenty of crusty French bread to mop up the juices.

Chicken with Tomatoes and Tarragon Recipe

INGREDIENTS

  1. 3boneless skinless chicken breasts
  2. 8mediumtomatoes, peeled,chopped and seeded
  3. 1leek, white part and a little green,chopped
  4. 4clovesgarlic, minced
  5. 2green onions, cut into 1 inch pieces white part and a little green
  6. 2tablespoonsfresh parsley, chopped
  7. 1 1/2teaspoonsdried tarragon
  8. 2tablespoonssoy sauce
  9. 1cupchicken broth
  10. 1cupwhite wine
  11. salt and black pepper

DIRECTIONS

  1. Place washed chicken in a baking dish.
  2. In a large bowl, combine the rest of the ingredients.
  3. Pour over the chicken, cover tightly and refrigerate overnight (or at least 2 hours).
  4. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
  5. Pour off marinade into a skillet and cook it down to about half of its volume.
  6. Pour reduced sauce over chicken and bake, covered for about 30 minutes; uncover and bake another 15 minutes.
