Almost Oreo’s Recipe

INGREDIENTS

  1. COOKIE WAFERS

  2. 1 (18 1/4 ounce)boxdark chocolate cake mix
  3. 1/3cupwater
  4. 2tablespoonsCrisco shortening
  5. CREME FILLING

  6. 3 1/2cupsicing sugar
  7. 1/2tablespoongranulated sugar
  8. 1/2teaspoonvanilla
  9. 1/2cupCrisco shortening(NOT butter or margarine, use only plain shortening)
  10. 3tablespoonshot water

DIRECTIONS

  1. set oven to 325 degrees.
  2. Blend all cookie wafer ingredients; knead with your hands until it is pliable like dough.
  3. Form dough into 3-inch balls, Place on a greased cooke sheet 1/2-inch apart.
  4. Press down the cookies with the bottom of a glass.
  5. Bake 4-6 minutes, or until cookies are crunchy.
  6. Note: another way to do this, is shape dough into long rolls; refrigerate 2-3 hours, remove from fridge, and slice the dough 1/8-inch thick, then bake.
  7. Let cookies cool on sheets.
  8. FOR FILLING: Combine all filling ingredients; mix well.
  9. Form into balls about 1/2- 3/4-inch in diameter.
  10. Again, using your hands, sandwich one filling in the center of two cookies, and carefully press down until the filling spreads almost to the edge.

Cheese Crispers Recipe

INGREDIENTS

  1. 1cupbutter, softened
  2. 2cups gratedcheddar cheese
  3. 2cupsflour
  4. 2cupsRice Krispies
  5. 1/2teaspooncayenne pepper

DIRECTIONS

  1. Set oven to 350 degrees.
  2. Prepare a greased cookie sheet.
  3. In a bowl, blend all ingredients.
  4. Shape into small balls.
  5. Flatten with a fork.
  6. Bake for 15 minutes.
  7. Note: the mix from the cheese Crispers can be prepared ahead, and stored in the fridge until ready to bake.

Bourbon Barbecue Sauce Recipe

INGREDIENTS

  1. 2tablespoonsbutter
  2. 2-4 freshminced garlic cloves
  3. 1largeonion, minced
  4. 3tablespoonscider vinegar
  5. 1cupchili sauce(Heinz is good)
  6. 1cupunsweetened pineapple juice(juice from crushed pineapple is good)
  7. 1cupcrushed pineapple(drained, use the juice)
  8. 4tablespoonsbrown sugar
  9. 2tablespoonsworcestershire sauce
  10. 1/2tablespoonmustard powder
  11. 2tablespoonslemon juice
  12. 1cup jack danielsbourbon
  13. 2tablespoonsred hot pepper sauce, diced(optional, add only if you like it extra hot)or1 habanero pepper, diced(optional, add only if you like it extra hot)

DIRECTIONS

  1. In a large saucepan, saute onion and garlic, until the onion is transparent.
  2. Add in the remaining ingredients EXCEPT the Jack Daniels whiskey.
  3. Bring to a boil; turn down to a simmer.
  4. Simmer for 1 hour.
  5. Add in the Jack Daniels and the hot pepper sauce or the habanero pepper (if using), simmer for another 10 minutes.
  6. Cool to room temperature.
  7. Store in fridge for 4-5 hours before using, to marinate flavors.
  8. Note: although you may omit the hot pepper sauce and the hot pepper, this barbecue sauce needs a certain amount of spice in order to bring out the taste.

Fat-Free Cinnamon Apple Bake Recipe

INGREDIENTS

  1. 3golden delicious apples
  2. 2/3cupwater
  3. 1/2tablespoonflour
  4. 1teaspooncornstarch
  5. 2teaspoonsButter Buds
  6. 1/2cuplight brown sugar
  7. 1/4teaspooncinnamon

DIRECTIONS

  1. Set oven to 350 degrees.
  2. Peel and core apples.
  3. Cut each one into 16 slices.
  4. Arrange slices on a greased 8″ x 8″ baking dish.
  5. In a small bowl, combine the water with flour, cornstarch and butter Buds; stir until the dry ingredients are dissolved and not lumpy.
  6. Add in the brown sugar and cinnamon, stir until smooth.
  7. Pour the cinnamon mixture over the apple slices.
  8. Cover the dish with foil; bake for 40 minutes.
  9. Stir the apples every 10 minutes.

Kittencal’s Really Easy Buttercream Frosting/Icing Recipe

INGREDIENTS

  1. 6tablespoonsbutter, softened(no substitutions)
  2. 3tablespoonswhipping cream, unwhipped(35%)
  3. 1teaspoonvanilla
  4. 3cupsconfectioners’ sugar
  5. food coloring (optional)

DIRECTIONS

  1. In a bowl, beat together the butter, whipping cream and vanilla until smooth (about 3 minutes).
  2. Add in confectioners sugar; beat very well until smooth, adding more if necessary to achieve desired consistency.
  3. Note: In order for the icing to have a creamy texture, only whipping cream must be used.
