Savory Meatballs Recipe

INGREDIENTS

  1. 1lblean ground beef
  2. 1egg, slightly beaten
  3. 1/4cup choppedonions
  4. 3-4cloves fresh mincedgarlic(or more if desired, if you are garlic lover)(optional)
  5. 1/2cupmilk
  6. 1/4cupyellow cornmeal
  7. 1teaspoondry mustard
  8. 1teaspoonseasoning saltor regular whitetable salt
  9. pepper
  10. 1/4teaspoonpoultry seasoning
  11. flour, for rolling in
  12. 3-4tablespoonsoil
  13. 1 1/2cupstomato juice

DIRECTIONS

  1. Set oven to 350 degrees.
  2. Grease a casserole dish.
  3. Mix all 11 ingredients together.
  4. Form into 16 small balls.
  5. Roll in the flour.
  6. In a frypan in hot oil, brown meatballs on all sides.
  7. Place the meatballs in casserole dish.
  8. Sprinkle lightly with additional 2 TBSP flour.
  9. Add in the 1-1/2 cups tomato juice.
  10. Bake for 45 minutes.

Scotch Shortbread Bars Recipe

INGREDIENTS

  1. 1cupbutter, softened(no substitutions)
  2. 1/2cupicing sugar(confectioners)
  3. 2cupsall-purpose flour
  4. 1/4teaspoonbaking powder
  5. 1/4teaspoonsalt
  6. additionalicing sugar, for dusting

DIRECTIONS

  1. Set oven to 350 degrees.
  2. Prepare an UNGREASED 11″ x 7″ baking pan.
  3. In a mixing bowl,cream butter and sugar well.
  4. Combine flour, baking powder and salt; gradually add to creamed mixture.
  5. Spread into a prepared ungreased baking pan.
  6. Prick well several times with a fork.
  7. Bake for 20-22 minutes, or until the edges just begin to brown.
  8. Remove from oven, dust with more icing sugar.
  9. Cool on wire rack.
  10. Cut into bars.

Really Easy and Good Chocolate Chewies Recipe

INGREDIENTS

  1. 1 (18 1/4 ounce)packagedevil’s food cake mix
  2. 1/2cupCrisco shortening
  3. 2largeeggs, lightly beaten
  4. 1tablespoonwater
  5. 1/3cupmini chocolate chips (optional)
  6. 1/2cupicing sugar

DIRECTIONS

  1. Set oven to 375 degrees.
  2. Lightly grease a cookie sheet.
  3. Combine first 4 ingredients in a large bowl, (with mini chocolate chips, if using) stirring until smooth.
  4. Shape dough into 1-inch balls; roll in icing sugar.
  5. Place 2-inches apart on cookie sheets.
  6. Bake for 8-10 minutes.
  7. Cool 10 minutes on cookie sheets.
  8. Remove to wire racks.

Delicious Asian Soup Recipe

INGREDIENTS

  1. 2tablespoonsoil
  2. 1/4cup choppedfresh ginger
  3. 1/4cup choppedfresh garlic
  4. 2 (32 ounce)canschicken broth, plus
  5. 2cupschicken broth(or more if desired)
  6. 1/2cupcornstarch
  7. 1 (10 1/2 ounce)packagefirm tofu, cut in 1/4 inch pieces
  8. 1 (8 ounce)canstraw mushroomsor regularcanned mushrooms
  9. 1 (8 ounce)canbamboo shoots, drained
  10. 1/2cupsoy sauce
  11. 1/4cuprice wine vinegar(must use ONLY rice wine vinegar, NOT regular white vinegar)
  12. 1tablespoonwhite sugar
  13. 1teaspooncrushed red pepper flakes
  14. 2 (16 ounce)bagsfrozen oriental-style vegetables
  15. 1lb peeled uncookedshrimp
  16. 1/4cup choppedcilantro
  17. 1 (10 ounce)packagefresh spinach, trimmed and chopped

DIRECTIONS

  1. In a large pot, heat oil.
  2. Over medium heat, saute ginger and garlic, cook until tender (about 3-4 minutes).
  3. Combine 1 cup broth with cornstarch until smooth.
  4. To the pot, add the cornstarch/broth mixture, remaining broth, tofu, mushrooms, bamboo shoots, soy sauce, vinegar, sugar and crushed red pepper flakes; bring to a boil, cook until thickened.
  5. Add frozen veggies, shrimp and cilantro.
  6. Simmer until shrimp is just opaque (about 10 minutes).
  7. Stir in spinach, just until wilted.
  8. Note: you may use frozen spinach (drained and chopped) in place of fresh spinach.

Awesome Apple and Pork Curry Recipe

INGREDIENTS

  1. 3tablespoonsoil
  2. 4boneless pork chops
  3. 1smallonion, chopped
  4. 2-3cloves fresh mincedgarlic
  5. 1-2 tartcooking apple, peeled and sliced
  6. 1smallred bell pepper, cut into thin strips
  7. 1/2cupchicken stock
  8. 1teaspooncornstarch
  9. 1teaspooncurry powder
  10. 1/2teaspooncumin
  11. 1/2teaspooncinnamon
  12. salt and pepper
  13. choppedparsley

DIRECTIONS

  1. In a large saute pan, heat oil to med-high.
  2. Cook pork chops until browned on both sides, and almost cooked through; remove from pan; set aside.
  3. Over med heat, cook onion, garlic, apple, and red pepper strips for 2 minutes, or until softened.
  4. Blend chicken stock with cornstarch; add to pan along with curry powder, cumin and cinnamon; cook for 1-2 minutes, or until slightly thickened.
  5. Return pork chops to frypan; adjust seasoning with salt and pepper.
  6. Cook for 1-2 minutes, or until heated through.
  7. Serve pork chops with sauce, and sprinkle with fresh parsley.
  8. Note: this recipe serves 4 people, if desired, all the ingredients can be doubled to feed more.
